BOOST is helping one of our clients, Baker Engineering, with filling a CNC Operator/Fuel Pump Assembler role. Baker Engineering, LLC’s (BE) core business centers around the design and development of high-tech, high-performance technologies for a variety of applications, from custom military and commercial engines to engine components, to the production of parts and mechanical assemblies for other industries. BE is a division of Waséyabek Development Company, LLC that is wholly owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, a Federally recognized Indian Tribe.


The CNC Operator/Fuel Pump Assembler will work onsite in Nunica, MI and perform CNC machine operation and fuel pump assembly to satisfy customer orders.

Responsibilities

 

  • Set-up and operate tools and machinery in accordance with operating procedures and safety protocols
  • Properly load and unload parts in CNC machines
  • Inspect parts using a variety of tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Produce parts that adhere to all quality guidelines
  • Operate equipment and produce parts in accordance with ISO 9001 standards
  • Assemble fuel pumps according to specifications
  • Perform all necessary quality checks on fuel pumps
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

  • Experience in CNC machine operation
  • Ability to use and read measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Willingness and desire to work in team environment
  • Ability to closely follow directions and processes
  • Able to quickly adapt/adjust focus, and problem solve within evolving work demands
  • Ability to adjust schedule to meet quickly developing needs of supervisor and other team members.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Standing or walking up to 8 hours per day

  • Lifting 5-20 lb. frequently, 20+ lb. rarely
  • Bending frequently

  • Fine manipulation frequently

  • Reaching at or below shoulder level frequently
  • Reaching above shoulder level rarely
  • Clearly see fine details while inspecting parts, tools, and gauges

  • Must demonstrate self-initiative


Work Authorization Requirements 

  • Ability to pass a background investigation
  • United States Citizenship required by contract


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC machining
  • Prior work in an ISO 9001 certified facility

 

Work Environment

  • Climate controlled shop
