BOOST is helping one of our teaming partners hire a growth-focused Business Development Manager to join their team. Our partner is a private, woman-owned technology consulting firm that has been offering technology solutions to enable and empower innovation within both the private and public sectors for 25+ years.


You will be primarily responsible for developing business solutions and managing client accounts within the commercial and federal sectors, and will be in charge of developing new sales strategies, sales pitches, and business plans. This position offers a base salary plus commission and company benefits and is a hybrid schedule based out of Harrisburg, PA. You should reside within PA, MD, or VA and be available to commute to the office for occasional on-site meetings.


  • Conduct market research and follow up on industry trends to identify new potential clients and develop relationships by actively prospecting and qualifying opportunities
  • Cold call/email prospective clients to set up introductory and/or scoping meetings; attend meetings with prospects virtually and in person
  • Monitor, track and report on leads and other progress towards achieving sales goals
  • Attend professional association and networking functions to develop a deep network of contacts in the region
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of current markets and competitors
  • Collaborate with Marketing to coordinate and/or sponsor networking, branding and other events
  • Maintain all activity, client meetings and opportunity data in the CRM tool
  • Monitor KPI performance metrics related to overall sales strategies
  • Prepare proposals and negotiate contracts
  • Conduct marketing campaigns, follow-up on leads, and conduct sales calls
  • Collaborate with technical delivery, recruiting team and HR to ensure that requirements are met
  • Possess a strong understanding of our services, our competition in the industry and positioning
  • Brainstorm with the leadership team to create new project strategies
  • Identify sales and services that would appeal to new clients in the federal space
  • Create sales pitches and execute sales objectives and manage client accounts
  • Negotiate sales contracts
  • Cultivate positive interactions and relationships with sales representatives, team leaders and managers, and executives to evaluate sales strategy and results
  • Motivate team members to exceed expected goals
  • Develop ways to improve the customer experience and build brand loyalty


Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field
  • Five to seven five years of previous experience in sales and / or sales management
  • Experience with B2B sales, marketing and strategic analysis
  • Experience delivering and negotiating proposals as well as successfully closing deals
  • Experience researching market trends in the federal / commercial markets, targeting relationships, and using proven methods to develop our business strategy while retaining marketing partners
  • Excellent understanding of the contracting terms, lingo, process, and regulations
  • Technical skills required to understand and propose services or solutions by focusing on client requirements
  • Abide by all non-compete/solicit agreements

Work Authorization Requirements

  • Candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance (2-3 hours) from Harrisburg, PA for occasional on-site availability (can reside in VA, MD, or PA)
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client/prospect meetings, events, etc. throughout the Regions
  • All candidates, regardless of work authorization status, will be considered for this role
